Wow. Anyone that can make going to the dentist feel like Disneyland to a 3-year-old has my vote.
Man, if I got a balloon, stickers and a coloring book for getting tartar scraped, I'd go every month. The facilities are cleverly set up to have positive distractions throughout. The Harmons and their staff are phenominal with kids. My toddler sat perfectly still with each xray and during the main service. She even made up her own teethbrushing song on the drive home.
We are second generation patients. Wouldn't go anywhere else! My daugher was a patient of Dr. Robert Harmon and now my grandchildren (3) are patients of Dr. Amy Beth (his daughter). My daugher was 20 before she left there and went to an adult dentist. She loved it there. The grandchildren too, actually look forward to going. Recently after their checkups they were each given a substantial sized pumpkin at their office pumpkin patch. These fun things are great to encourage the kids to have fun there, but most important, they love the doctors and the dental assistants. They are all super caring and gentle. The doctors are into prevention. The grandkids started going at age one. Only one has had a cavity and had the filling painlessly. It was a good experience for him. The billing department people are very conscientious too to help with insurance issues. Wow have things changed since I was a kid when I went to a regular dentist. Thank goodness for Specialists!
I've been bringing my kids for just over 5 years now. Each experience was as good as the last. This is true despite some teeth removals and fillings.
They came recommended from our "adult" dentist and it was worthwhile advice. The kids are treated like princes and princesses. They are rewarded every step of the way: balloons, stickers, tiny toys. I am sure the idea is that the dental trip is a fun event.
We have found the staff to be pleasant. They are working, not kissing your behind. The doctors and assistants; however, treat the kids well and age-appropriate.
We absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! This has been my daughters' dental office from the very begining, and I must say that they have the most professional staff ever. From the bedside manner, skill level (some were even under the guidance of my own dentist in dental school!), to the "just for little people" accomodations!
My youngest went in for for an hour and a half visit and shed NOT one tear. GREAT experiance, the way it should be!
I met Dr. Amybeth today with my 3 year old. She was terrific (even took off her labcoat as to not freak him out). Her hygenist was great- she took the time to have my 3 year old take care of nemo's teeth so he was used to the tools.
The staff in the front were all lovely.
The place is clean and it is stocked for kids so well that I would call it the "Dentist Disneyland".
I haven't had my child have any big (or little) procedure yet but they certainly did a great job adjusting him to liking going to the dentist.
I took both of my boys today. I have to say that they were really nice. I arrived early and had to wait longer than expected but it was worth it. They did additional treatments to one of my kids on the same day to save me from a trip back. overall a very satisfied parent!
We love this place! My 16 yo has been going here for forever and my 3 yo since he was 1. When we go here we're treated like family by the entire office.
My 3 yo has been nervous about getting into the "magic" chair to have the "sugar bugs" removed from his teeth. The assistants and dentists were able to get him into the chair and get a good look at his teeth, no problem. Even took x-rays the last time!
We've seen Dr. Amybeth and Dr. Angie - both are great and helped my little guy feel comfortable with the whole experience.
I wouldn't take my kids to any other office.
My daughter had a painful cavity on her back molar. I got an appointment the day after I found the cavity. The amazing staff made my daughter feel like the most special princess in the world. Thank you for that! It's bad enough going to the dentist at any age but kids have it harder. This dentist office is top notch and I would recommend them to all parents!
I LOVE my kids dentists, Here. Dr. Harmon is always caring and her staff gives the BEST advise for how to treat our kids dental concerns. They have always been understanding with our kids and their Behavior needs. This place is all about the Kids, Kids come First!
Super place for kids to have Dentistry done. My son and daughter love it there. Once they get them in, I can't get them out. This place has taught us a lot about oral health and home care tips. Plus, my 2 year old let them clean her teeth..Thank you Dr. Harmon and staff.
I am so thankful for the wonderful treatment my two children have received from Dr. Amybeth Harmon and her staff over the past ten years. She and her staff are always kind, down to earth, and most importantly have put my ten year old and four year old interests first. Through great guidance my children have healthy mouths, healthy mindsets about how to care for themselves, and actually think it's an okay thing to go to the dentist. I am a true believer that you get what you pay for and I'm happy to know that when my kids' smile people will notice their pearly whites which will give them a one up on future employment!
While on the way to Pediatric Dentistry of Pleasant Hill with my seven-year-old grandson, I hear his excited voice from the back seat "Grandma, I can't wait to see the dentist!" When was the last time you heard a comment like that!
He was one year old when he had his first visit. This is a caring practice. Not only from the standpoint of the child but for the concerns of the parent (grandparent). The staff really listens to my grandson, answering his questions using show and tell.
This practice promotes preventative dentistry. Yes, they have the toy box and balloons, but they also have expertise. I would recommend Pediatric Dentistry of Pleasant Hill to anyone.
My daughter came home from preschool and said that a dental office visited her class today. She got a new toothbrush, coloring book and some information for me too. Being a first time mom I didn't know they recommend the first dental visit at age one. My daughter was very excited to go, but became very nervous on our way there. Our "dentist helper" Randi, was great. She explained everything in very "kid friendly" terms. After a couple of minutes my daughter became very relaxed and followed all of her instructions. I was very pleased with her first visit. At the end of the appointment she left with a toy, sticker, balloon and a huge smile. She is already asking me when she gets to come back again.
Absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish I couldn't have ask for better care. As a nervous parent coming in with a 2 year old that just hit his mouth on the corner of a table the staff there totally put me at ease. I was promptly brought back for my child to be examined when I arrived & step by step everything was explained to me. I went into the office with a crying child & left with a very happy child even after having his tooth fixed. Definitely returning for all my children's dental needs!
Our 2 year old daughter had extensive cavities due to us letting her fall asleep with her bottle. Our pediatrician referred us to this office. Due to her age and the amount of work she needed ( she had 12 cavities!!) Dr. Amybeth recommended general anesthesia. At first we were apprehensive but after speaking to our pediatrician, he reassured us that this was totally safe and appropriate considering the circumstances. The day of the procedure, we met with the anesthesiologist ( who was from Children's Hospital) who put us at ease. The work went without a hitch and now our child now has a beautiful smile and is not in any way afraid of her next visit. We are very pleased with this practice and highly recommend it.
